To support confident design development, Amden Engineering provides free off-tool samples as part of the custom aluminium extrusions and extrusion development process. These initial samples are produced from newly manufactured tooling, allowing you to physically evaluate the extrusion before committing to full production. By reviewing real extruded material, you gain far greater insight than relying on CAD alone, enabling an accurate assessment of fit, form, and functional performance in real-world conditions. By incorporating sample approval into the development workflow, we reduce project risk, enhance design confidence, and ensure the final custom aluminium extrusions perform as intended within your system.
Every off-tool sample related to our custom aluminium extrusions undergoes a structured three-stage approval process before progressing to production.
1. Manufacturing Inspection
The manufacturing facility conducts an initial inspection to verify that the extrusion meets the approved die design and key dimensional requirements.
2. Engineering Review
Amden Engineering performs an additional assessment of the sample, reviewing critical dimensions, profile integrity, manufacturability, and overall design intent.
3. Customer Testing & Approval
The off-tool samples are then supplied to the customer for testing and evaluation within their intended application. Customer approval confirms the profile meets functional and performance requirements before production proceeds.
This collaborative process helps identify issues early, ensures alignment between all stakeholders, and reduces risk during full-scale production.
