AMDEN extrudes a wide range of aluminium alloys to suit different performance, strength, finishing and application requirements. The most commonly used extrusion alloys are from the 6000 series, which provide an excellent balance of extrudability, corrosion resistance, strength and surface finish.

Powder Coating
Powder coating provides a durable, attractive finish available in a wide range of colours and textures. AMDEN uses premium architectural-grade powder, including warranty-backed products.
Anodising
Anodising creates a hard, corrosion-resistant oxide layer that becomes an integral part of the aluminium surface. It improves wear resistance while maintaining the natural metallic appearance of the aluminium and is available in a variety of clear and coloured finishes.
Minimum order quantities (MOQs) vary depending on the extrusion design, alloy, manufacturing location and selected supplier. Factors such as profile size, packing requirements and production efficiency all influence the minimum order quantity.
As a general guide, the minimum production quantity for a custom aluminium extrusion is approximately 250-350 kg.
Extrusion tolerances vary depending on the size of the extrusions. If your application has critical dimensions or fitment requirements, please discuss these with our engineering team early in the design process. We can work with you to optimise the profile design and determine the most appropriate manufacturing solution to achieve your required tolerances.
Extrusions are typically paper interleaved to protect visible surfaces from scratching and abrasion during packing and transit. Finished products are then securely stacked and strapped onto sturdy timber skids, providing a stable base for safe handling by forklifts and transport operators.
6060 is a versatile aluminium alloy widely used for architectural, commercial and general engineering applications. It offers excellent extrudability, a high-quality surface finish and good corrosion resistance, making it ideal for window and door frames, shopfitting, furniture, display systems and lightweight structural components where appearance and ease of fabrication are important.
Known as the architectural alloy, 6063 provides an excellent surface finish, good corrosion resistance and medium strength. It is commonly used for window and door systems, curtain walls, balustrades, handrails, transport components and decorative extrusions. Its excellent anodising characteristics make it a preferred choice where aesthetics are a priority.
6463 is specifically developed for applications requiring an exceptional decorative finish. It delivers superior anodising performance compared with other 6000 series alloys, making it ideal for premium architectural products, lighting components, furniture, display systems and decorative trim where appearance, corrosion resistance and consistent surface quality are essential.
6061 is a high-strength structural alloy offering excellent mechanical properties, weldability and corrosion resistance. It is widely used in transport, marine, defence, industrial equipment and machinery components. Suitable for applications requiring greater strength than standard architectural alloys, it also machines well and performs reliably in demanding environments.
6106 combines good strength with excellent extrudability and corrosion resistance, making it suitable for structural and transportation applications. It is commonly used for automotive components, rail systems, ladders, scaffolding, access equipment and lightweight structural profiles where durability, dimensional stability and reduced weight are important design considerations.
6082 is one of the strongest alloys in the 6000 series, offering excellent structural performance and corrosion resistance. It is commonly used in heavy-duty engineering, transport, marine, bridges, cranes, defence equipment and load-bearing applications. Its high strength makes it ideal for demanding environments requiring reliable long-term performance.
